Little Goals for September

lots of special new crystal rings in the shop

I am so jam packed for September and I won't lie... I set it up that way. I have been so into my business and burning the midnight oil to make this little dream a reality that I haven't really thought about anything else. I take everything I make, turn back around and put it right back into this business so I am broke but that's ok. I do it because to be honest with you I love it! This really is my dream job. Being able to design things for other people to wear and enjoy, building a brand from my own perspective on style, and creating. The perks for me are talking to my customers and meeting with them it's like having a bunch of friends all over the world that I can send special packages too. I have always loved doing things for people and making things special so this job fits me like a glove.

As for personal life I have done something fun every weekend for the past 4 or 5. We went camping to see my gram and gramps grave, we went to dolly wood, kings island and rode every roller coaster, Went 4 wheeling in tn and camped out in a storm, Went to a baseball game, went to an art fair, went to the county fair and... let's just say we made the most of the summer even though it seemed summer wasn't going anywhere we made it go somewhere. I'm also proud to say that I am still involved in my buti fitness class which is a goal I have tried to achieve for way too long.

Even though my calender is covered in permanent marker I still want to make time for other things rather than just business...

1. Work on baby book
2. Enjoy the outdoors
3. Finish my book
4. Finish organizing my finances
5. Cook some meals
6. Work on my studio
7. Put up a Fence
8. Pay my bills

What are some of your goals? Did you enjoy your summer

Little Goals for May

We're already a week into May and I just can't believe it. I have so much going on this time of year it's hard to make room for anything extra but always ends up getting jam packed. Now that I think about it my two biggest money making times of the year are the holidays and during summer vacations which means I'm working my bottom off while most people are chilling and taking time off. Either way I still love it. I find myself wanting to accomplish so many things that I often get frustrated and then waste the day away enjoying it. Which by the way isn't so bad either. It's just that time of year when I feel so inspired by the weather and activities but fall short when it comes to making things happen. For the past 3 months I have dedicated myself to this problem and put in the time to make things happen. This is my big goal for May and with one week in I can tell you that it is happening. I may have totally stressed myself out and felt as if my world was falling apart but I am getting shit done and it feels great. Finally it seems that my life is headed in a new direction that will help me achieve things I have been wanting for a lonnnnngggg longgg time.

I want to vent for a moment so bare with me. One thing that has aggravated me is people thinking that I have time to waste on things they want which do nothing for me. It's not that I think that my time is so much more valuable but I wish people understood that just because I don't have what they deem is a real job doesn't mean that I just waste away my days doing whatever I please. I have to work, I have a schedule and I put in time if I didn't I wouldn't have money to reinvest and take care of my baby. I work for a living... shocking huh? So if your wanting me to go out of my way for you to look at something of mine that you might buy it really isn't worth my time or worth the money for me. I say this after offering my things for sale in several local places and online with free shipping for locals. This isn't me being rude it's me being honest. Time is money for me especially now that I have a baby to take care of. Now if your wanting to go for a walk or hangout then that's totally worth my time. So is this making sense?

Phew... either way here are my little goals for may...
1. Hang out with new friends
2. Finalize Art Camp Plans and Ideas
3. Get rid of lots of stuff... YARD SALE!
4. Stay Active
5. Experiment more with dark room photography

I have quite a few exciting things going on this month that are going to make it fly by and then when June hits I will have a month full of happy things that I will share later. I have a trip to the smokies, a boyscout lesson on pinhole cameras, mommy and me exercise classes, and some extreme organizing and planning for June which will keep me busy with 2 weeks of art camp along with some good news.

blah. I feel like I just spilled my guts. why is spring flying by so fast?

February's Little Goals

This is a start of a new monthly goal for me. Last month I focused on getting organized and getting caught up on appointments for myself. Having this one goal for one month has seemed like a pretty easy way to accomplish things so I am continuing it this month. I still also want to keep these little goals I have been posting too because if I have this list of little goals it seems like I am more likely to work on them in my free time.

My month goal for February is no fast food or pop for one month. I know this is going to be a hard one but I am determined and if I focus on it for one month I might find myself making it a habit for the rest of the year.

Here are my little goals for February

1. Read some of my forgotten books
2. Cook healthier Meals and try new ones
3. Continue working on baby book
4. Clean out closet and supplies
5. Do some fun things for myself: go to a movie, get a pedicure, go out for a night with my friends, and go on a special outing with Justin

Accomplishments

1. Started posting more on the blog
2. Went to my favorite nature escape
3. Tried a new recipe
4. Organized my desk
5. Started saving money and took care of my school bills

What is your goal for February??

Little Goals for January

Juniper will be 6 months on the 20th!!! I can't believe it! That means it's been 6 months and I am just now getting things figured out with baby in tow. I have already seen major improvements from using my word for this year POSITIVE. One other mini resolution of mine is to focus on me and to put things and people who detract me from that out of the picture.

The other thing I want to incorporate for my resolutions is doing a monthly resolution. This month I am focusing on Getting caught up and organized. Next month will be Eating Clean for one month. I think focusing on one thing a month will help establish a habit and make it easier for me to carry those good things out all year long. Plus I can feel accomplished when I do it for one month even if it doesn't carry throughout the year. I am excited to see if this works for me!

Besides those main goals these are my little goals that focus more on me and my personal life which is something I haven't focused on in a while.

1. Home made toys for Juniper
2. Less Pacifier
3. Prepped meals, smoothies and salads
4. Clean off computer and Cell phone
5. Work on Baby Book

and I am going to start counting my accomplishments because it makes me feel good... ya know?

January's accomplishments
1. Doctor and Dentist apt made (just need to make it to them)
2. Glasses!
3. Baby room organized and clean
4. Starting a Schedule
5. No fast food!

I know these things might not seem like goals to those of you super moms but I have been drained lately and these are things that I have been putting off for way too long.

Goals for December

It's hard to make goals in December because it goes by way too fast. Between shopping for presents and the surge of purchases I have to pack in the shop there really isn't a moment to concentrate on anything else. Either way I'm gonna try to keep these things in mind and be happy with anything I do accomplish.

  1. Begin brainstorming the spring collection
  2. Put a little chunk of money back and start a budget
  3. Start making a list of new year resolutions
  4. Make a couple of good meals and a couple of unique cocktails
  5. Begin clearing off our lot
  6. Bake some holiday cookies and make other home made sweets (marshmallows) to gift
  7. Go out with my friends
  8. Send out Christmas Cards
  9. Pull out the Video Camera
  10. Print Pictures and Instagrams
What are some of your goals for December?

August is for Learning

Sometimes I blog to brainstorm and to organize my thoughts. To take the time to figure out what I am feeling on the inside and to make plans. I have decided that August will be my month of learning.

There is so much to absorb on the internet and with social media in the mix it's hard to prioritize and make the most of my time. Most of it gets spent lost among useless topics when all I wanted was a simple answer to something I was wondering about.

I have had some ecourse's on my laptop over a year now that haven't been finished (some not even started). I keep pushing them aside for when I will have time to focus because there is no deadline. I have books that were barely touched and have been collecting dust for months. I have a whole board on pinterest dedicated to things I want to learn more about yet it's forgotten about. There really isn't a good excuse and more of a waste.

Here is my problem. I feel like learning slows me down in the internet world. I feel like I could spend that time creating new things, blogging, working on my shop, and keeping my social media up to date. I want quick easy answers to my problems and sometimes I am afraid that after reading a book or finishing a ecourse I will gain nothing and have wasted time. But this is my sorry excuse... and now that I have typed it out I realized that a couple years ago I was able to work a steady job and go to school. It might have been stressful at times but I did it.

There needs to be a balance between learning and working. That's what my august is going to be about. A month for me to implement both in a more organized way and to practice it so that hopefully it becomes a habit.

I love to learn and what's great about that is that there is unlimited knowledge via the internet. It's just about how you rein it in, filter, organize it and use it. That's what I want to teach myself.

New Year Goals for 2013

I sat and thought about these for the past week and have been ever so patiently waiting to let you all see. Part of me wants to keep them hidden away because of the fear of failure and the other part says this will help make it happen.

The other thing that drives me crazy is I am realizing that this year is going to be one of the most interesting years of my life. It's probably going to just happen like it needs to without me being able to really control what actually happens. I can already see a difference in just being pregnant and how it effects what I want and need to do. I literally have really really good days where I feel like I can do anything and there are only a few of them. Who knows when their going to pop up right? Then I have really bad blah days where all I care about is if I am going to eat. Those days happen more than they need to but I am starting to understand that it is what it is.

So writing goals has been difficult but it doesn't hurt to reach for the stars. I will be happy to see at least some of these goals happen before next year and it's exciting to have them somewhere solid where I can't lose them. Then next year I can really see what the heck I was thinking and if it was worth it!
