TREND: Moon

I have been so obsessed with the Moon lately, for a long while, and still a little now I wanted to get a tattoo of a moon and sun (but I can never figure out where to get it). Anyways the moon means so much to me, from the it being the light of the night, to always remembering my gram when a full moon was out meaning that was when all the crazy people came out! I have been inspired a lot by the moon lately, maybe you'll get a little inspired too.
I recently purchased this amazing moon phase calender from OriginalLunarPhase shop and it's definitely worth the 8 bucks I spent on it! I'm so in love with it!

Mini Cabin: Update

For those of you who have been following along about my mini cabin I finally have some news!
I know this update and has taken forever but a couple of things have gotten in our way, having no door and losing a little motivation for some time has definitely got the best of us. Also we had a bitter winter (it was a bad one for KY).
But anyways here are some pictures for the update!

I am so happy to be back on track, were so close to being done I can't wait to show you the finished product. We still have some update to the outside were going to paint the door and I'm going to figure out something to make for the front on the side without the door.
I got a hammock while in TN and its rainbow! eek! There was a perfect set of trees for me to hang my hammock almost over the creek, it feels almost too perfect laying in it.
Also the last picture makes me giggle...It's just too cute! :D

Wild Style: Self Love

"I wish to be nothing but myself at all times."

Self love is about having confidence in yourself and really not caring what other people think of you. When Courtney and I first started these photo shoots, which has been a couple of years ago it was always pretty awkward. Yes even with my own sister! Back then I was self conscious, I felt like any way I turned was weird and like I looked stupid. Over years and accepting flaws and learning to love them I have fun, I don't care when people look when we go out for these photo shoots.
But this definitely isn't just about taking photo shoots, its about real life. Be true to yourself, and then you will begin to love yourself. Don't worry about others, and just do you. Once you fall in love with yourself, I promise you will forever be happy. :)

Update: Spring Break

I think about everyone has taken there spring break. Mine has been over for about three weeks! I know I'm running a little late! But I wanted to update you with what I did, because I had a pretty awesome one! I hope you all did too.
Me and my boyfriend and sister hiked the pinnacles this day! Specifically the East side which over looks this little place called Big Hill! Its absolutely beautiful up there always worth the walk.
Me and Cody's family's new pup, Lassie, she is a sheltie, and my sister Elisha and her two puppas!
Then for the weekend we headed down to Gatlinburg, TN for my moms birthday!
Me and Cody got up early Saturday morning and basically hike the Smokey Mountain National Park all day.

If you have never been here before and are able to go then please go! It was absolutely beautiful and so worth the hike! We mainly hiked the Applachian Trail and then hiked to Laurel Falls. I didn't get to spend all my days outside for spring break like I had wished! We had some rainy days and some cold ones, but it was one of the best yet.
What did you all do for spring break?
I'd love to hear!
xoxo Nicky

Wild Style: Let Her Go

"Only miss the sun when it starts to snow, only know you love her when you let her go..."

I'm really obsessed with this song right now. Also I feel like it went with this post because of the changing seasons and how I will be so happy for winter to be gone, but then I'll miss it....(probably not though!)

Exploring On the Farm

Although winter isn't my favorite season and trust me with the winter we've had in KY I'm more than ready for it to be over. But some days like this one we had awhile back was a pretty one, with everything being dead it makes it pretty easy to go exploring so that's what we decided to do.
Everything was dried and dead but still so beautiful, you notice the details of everything a little more. That's why I love nature.

DIY Scarf Hanger

If you have 5 scarves or 20 scarves, you can make this scarf hanger work for you.
All you need is some dresser drawer handles, wood, screws, and something to cut the wood!
I don't have any pictures while I was making it but it's so easy I can just explain it to you!
So my wood came from some old fence wood from my boyfriends farm, you can always buy or get some recycled cheap wood from any store. You can always try your local Habitat For Humanity ReStore!

I made each of my boards 2 feet long and the width is around 3 inches. To keep them all together I cut 2 more boards skinnier in length but I made them a little less than 9 inches. So they could go across all three boards and hold them together. Put a screw in each board on each side to make sure its pretty strong. Also at this point you want to add your hanger. I used a really strong wire, but you can always buy the saw tooth hangers, just make sure you get something that's strong enough.
You want to drill holes before you try to put in your drawer handles. Its about impossible or at least it was for me to put those in without holes.
This is my finished piece, I staggered my boards for more room and different ways to hang my scarves. I also painted mine, you can paint it any color!

Here's my finished product ! It only took around 30 minutes to complete, I hope you try out this quick and easy DIY. :D

ReThink Your Spring Break

If your anything like me then usually every spring break you don't make or have any plans. My family will go on a trip to the smokies, and then later in the summer a trip to the beach. So spring break is a week where I try to be off from everything. Obviously school, but also work as a little mini vacation.
A couple of years ago I did this thing and I called it Nature Week! Every day I went and hiked
or just enjoyed the views of being somewhere different. But in nature!
So I want to challenge, all of you no matter what age, take your Spring Break, even if you don't have an official week, make one and go out everyday somewhere different!
Hike a mountain, walk around your local park, find some creeks near you, a lake, visit your arboretum (even if you have to drive an hour) ask around find out about secret waterfalls, caves or trails you've never been to before, even sitting outside on your back porch.

Make it as easy or as hard as you want, just go out and enjoy nature...Thats what this is all about! Dedicate one week, one week that you may not be doing anything but sit around on a couch or dragging yourself to work everyday, and take one hour and enjoy being outside, for seven days. Or as many as you can!

These are my pictures from my Nature Week that was almost three years ago!
You never know what you'll happen upon and be amazed at, nature always amazes and refreshes me!
I encourage you to get out this week, no electronics, bring your family, friends, or lover then go out for a good snack afterwards!
** Hashtag #NatureWeekRunWild on Instagram and one of your photos could get featured on a Blog Post! **
